Die Antares Nebelregion - unser Bild zeigt ein Mosaik, bestehend aus 4 Segmenten, der großen Nebelregion um den Stern Antares im Sternbild Skorpion. Es ist die wohl farbenprächtigste Region in unserer Milchstraße. Wir sehen seltene gelbe Reflexionsnebel südlich von Antares und blaue Reflexiosnebel. Rötliche H-II Regionen und dunkelbraune Molekülwolken und Dunkelnebel. Und zusätzlich 3 Kugelsternhaufen Messier 4, Messier 80, NGC 6144 und etliche offene Sternhaufen. Die Region ist nur etwa 400 bis 500 Lichtjahre vom Sonnensystem entfernt.
Object description
The Antares Nebula Region - our image shows a mosaic, consisting of four segments, of the vast nebular region surrounding the star Antares in the constellation Scorpio. It is arguably the most colorful region in our Milky Way. We see rare yellow reflection nebulae south of Antares and blue reflection nebulae. Reddish H-II regions, dark brown molecular clouds, and dark nebulae. In addition, there are three globular clusters-Messier 4, Messier 80, and NGC 6144-as well as numerous open clusters. The region is only about 400 to 500 light-years away from the solar system.
