The ARA OB1 Association in the constellation Ara
Die ARA OB1 Assoziation - in der Bildmitte unserer Aufnahme steht die ARA OB1 Assoziation im Sternbild Ara. Es ist eine aktive Sternentstehungsregion. Das Bild ist eine Weitwinkelansicht, bestehend aus 4 Segmenten und überdeckt etwa 64 Quadratgrad des Himmels. Die Hauptobjekte sind die Emissionsregion NGC 6188, die die Emission anregenden Sterne des offenen Sternhaufen NGC 6193 und des bipolaren Wof Rayet Nebels NG 6164/65.
Ein sehr spezielles Objekt im Bildfeld ist oben am Bildrand Westerlund 1, auffällig dir die rote Farbe des offenen Sternhaufens. Es ist der wohl massereichste Sternhaufen in unserer Galaxie, von dem wir hier eine detailreiche Ansicht mit weiterführenden Information zeigen.
Im südwestlichen Teil des Mosaik des Mosaiks finden sich viele offene Sternhafen. Unter anderem NGC 6431, NGC 6167, Lynga 12 und Collinder 307, siehe auch das beschriftete Bild unten .
Object description
The ARA OB1 Association - In the center of our image is the ARA OB1 association in the constellation Ara. It is an active star-forming region. The image is a wide-angle view consisting of four segments and covers approximately 64 square degrees of the sky. The main objects are the emission region NGC 6188, the emission-exciting stars of the open star cluster NGC 6193, and the bipolar Wof Rayet nebula NG 6164/65.

A very special object in the
image field is Westerlund 1 at the top of the image, remarkable for the red
color of the open star cluster. It is probably the most massive star cluster in
our galaxy, of which we show a detailed view with further information
here. In the southwestern part of the mosaic, there are many open star clusters.
