H-alpha Emission in der großen Magellanschen Wolke - Unser Bild zeigt im monochronatischen Lich der roten H-alpa Linie einige Emissionsnebelgebiete im nördlichen Teil der großen Magellanschen Wolke (LMC). Die N Nummerierung (siehe beschriftetes Bild unten) bezieht sich auf den Katalog von Karl Gordon Henize, einem amerikanischen Astronomen und NASA Astronauten. Die DEM Bezeichnungen beziehen sich auf Arbeiten der Astronomen Davies, Elliott und Meaburn, die 1976 einen ausführlichen Katalog publiziert hatten. Eine ausführliche Beschreibung einiger der Objekte sind in einem Artikel im VdS Journal, Nr. 82 (3/2022) ab Seite 52 zu finden.
Mit den Emissionsnebeln in der großen Magellanschen Wolke haben wir uns 2023 und 2024 ausführlich beschäftiget und in einer Sonderseite als spezielles Projekt zusammen gefasst. Sie beinhaltet ein großes Mosaik der (LMC) und diverse hoch aufgelöste Bilder einzelner Objekte mit einer Brennweite von 2.000 mm. Sie finden sie hier.
Object description
H-alpha emission in the Large Magellanic Cloud - Our image shows several emission nebulae in the northern part of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) in the monochromatic light of the red H-alpha line. The N numbering (see labeled image below) refers to the catalog of Karl Gordon Henize, an American astronomer and NASA astronaut. The DEM designations refer to the work of astronomers Davies, Elliott, and Meaburn, who published a detailed catalog in 1976. A detailed description of some of the objects can be found in an article in the VdS Journal, No. 82 (3/2022), starting on page 52.

52. We took a detailed look at the emission nebulae in the Large Magellanic Cloud in 2023 and 2024 and summarized our findings in a special project on a dedicated page. It includes a large mosaic of the LMC and various high-resolution images of individual objects with a focal length of 2,000 mm.
