Object description NGC 2170 (vdb 69) is a large complex of emission and reflection nebulae in the constellation Unicorn (Monoceros). It is a sub-region of the active star-forming region Monoceros R2, embedded in a huge dark cloud of molecules and dust particles. The brighter region, to the right of the image center are NGC 2167 (vdB 68) and NGC 2170, the most prominent nebulae in this area. |
