Ced 106 N and RCW 27 + RCW 33 - H-II emission in the constellation Vela
CED 106 N - Unser Bild zeigt eine Weitwinkelansicht der Sternentstehungsregion GUM 15 im Sternbild Vela. Das zentrale Objekt in Bildmitte ist als CED 106 N katalogisiert und enthält den jungen offenen Sternhaufen Collinder 117. Nordwestlich (rechts oben im Bild) von CED 106 N liegt RCW 27 mit dem großen hellen Sternhaufen Ruprecht 64. Südöstlich liegt RCW 33.
Zwischen CED 106 N und RCW 33 befindet sich der hellerer offener Sternhaufen NGC 2671. Er enthält etwa 40 Sterne, wird nach Trumpler als I 3 p klassifiziert und ist ungefähr 5.400 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt. Auf der unteren rechten Seite der Aufnahme sind Filamente zu sehen, die Teil der Überreste des Vela Supernovaüberrests sind von dem wir hier ein großes Mosaik zeigen. Object description
CED 106 N - Our image shows a wide-angle view of the star-forming region GUM 15 in the constellation Vela. The central object in the center of the image is cataloged as CED 106 N and contains the young open star cluster Collinder 117. Northwest (top right of the image) of CED 106 N lies RCW 27 with the large bright star cluster Ruprecht 64. Southeast lies RCW 33.

Between CED 106 N and RCW 33 is
the brighter open cluster NGC 2671. It contains
about 40 stars, is classified as I 3 p by Trumpler, and is about 5,400
light-years from Earth. On the lower right side of the image filaments can be
seen which are part of the remnants of the Vela supernova remnant of which we
show here a large mosaic. Detailed information from the ESO on
