Objektbeschreibung:

RCW 57 - Unser Bild zeigt eine Weitwinkelansicht der H-II Emission RCW 57 im Sternbild Carina. Annähernd in Bildmitte steht RCW 57, es ist ein aktives Sternentstehungsgebiet. Die Region besteht aus 2 Hauptgebieten in unterschiedlichen Entfernung zum Sonnensystem. Im Westen (im Bild rechts) ist es NGC 3578 (GUM 38 A) und im Osten liegt NGC 3603 (GUM 38 B). In der östlichen Region steht in der Mitte der H-II Emission ein so genannter galaktischer Supersternhaufen. Von beiden Regionen zeigen wir hoch aufgelöste Bilder hier (NGC 3578) und hier (NGC 3603).

Weiterhin zeigt die Übersicht eine ganze Reihe von hellen offenen Sternhauifen. Nördlich von RCW 57 sind es unter anderem Collinde 240 und NGC 3590. Östlich von RCW 57 liegt NGC 3766 und südlich IC 2714.

Object description

RCW 57 - Our image shows a wide angle view of the H-II emission RCW 57 in the constellation Carina. Approximately in the center of the image is RCW 57, it is an active star forming region. The region consists of 2 main areas at different distances from the solar system.

In the west (right in the image) it is NGC 3578 (GUM 38 A) and in the east is NGC 3603 (GUM 38 B). In the eastern region a so called galactic super star cluster is located in the center of the H-II emission. From both regions we show high resolution images here (NGC 3578) and here (NGC 3603).

Furthermore, the overview shows a number of bright open star shapes. North of RCW 57 there are Collinde 240 and NGC 3590, east of RCW 57 NGC 3766 and south IC 2714.
