NGC 6124 - Open star cluster in the constellation Scorpio
NGC 6124 ist ein wunderschöner - von Dunkelwolken umgebender - offener Sternhaufen im Sternbild Skorpion. Er beinhaltet etwa 100 Sterne, wird nach Trumpler der Klasse II 3 m zugeordnet und ist ungefähr 1.700 Lichtjahre vom Sonnensystem entfernt. NGC 6124 wurde im Jahr 1751 von Nicolas Louis de Lacaille entdeckt.
Object description
NGC 6124 is a beautiful - surrounded by dark clouds - open star cluster in the constellation Scorpio. It contains about 100 stars, is assigned to class II 3 m according to Trumpler and is about 1,700 light-years away from the solar system. NGC 6124 was discovered in 1751 by Nicolas Louis de Lacaille.
