The Antares nebula complex |
|
Object description:
The Antares region - probably the most colorful region
of the sky - offers an impressive impression at different focal lengths. After
the overview image with
50 mm we created a mosaic of 7 single images with 200 mm
focal length. Even if the extension of the Antares region is not yet complete,
we would like to show the intermediate state already.
|
Jupiter was just outside the field of view during the exposure time
and creates the brightening at the left edge of the image. An image of the
Antares region with Jupiter
is shown here.
There are red H-alpa emission nebulae
mixed with blue and yellow reflection nebulae and brown to black molecular dark
clouds.
