In the following some impressions
of the total lunar eclipse on 27 July 2018. In the
same night the big Mars opposition took place. Pictures of a partial solar
eclipse and a total lunar eclipse in 2015 are shown

The
total lunar eclips 27. July 2018
While one of us (Paech) looked after the guests of the lodge during
the observation of the lunar eclipse (we had campfire and mulled wine in front
of the dome) Hofmann and Lucius were at the lodge Rooisand and looked after the
guests there during the lunar eclipse. The next day a planetary hiking trail -
which we designed - was inaugurated there.

twilight colours of the sunset. |

« The following images of the eclipse were
taken in focus (f = 860mm) of the Astro Physics EDFS refractor. Camera was a
Canon 60 DA at 200 ASA. Since the care of the guests takes a lot of time, there
are few pictures of the partial phase.

« The image on the left shows a wide-angle image of the Milky
Way, Mars (above) and Moon (below), taken during the middle of
totality.
