NGC 6134, NGC 6167 and Hogg 19 - open star clusters in the Ara/Norma constellation
 

 
Object description:

NGC 6167 is an open star cluster in the constellation Protractor (Norma) at the border to the constellation Altar (Ara). With an apparent diameter of 7 arcminutes it is cataloged as type II 3 m according to Trumpler. NGC 6167 is located at a distance of about 3600 light years from the solar system and discovered on May 10, 1826 by James Dunlop. Dunlop was a Scottish astronomer who made his observations from Australia.
 
NGC 6134 is also an open star cluster in the constellation Protractor (Norma). Like NGC 6167 NGC 6134 has an apparent diameter of 7 arcminutes it is also cataloged as type II 3 m according to Trumpler. The cluster is with about 3000 lightyears a little bit closer to the solar system and was discovered in the same night as NGC 6167 by James Dunlop.
